The Bad News Beers entered the Arlington Men’s Softball C League as the 3 seed. The Beers showed up defensively short-handed as 3B Phil Crosby and SS Chris Stemp decided it would be a good idea to leave the country as the playoffs approached. Assistant General Manager/Catcher Jon Rojas has decided to fine them both $30,000 for their behavior. This will be Stemp’s second fine of the season as he was fined earlier in the year for HGH use.
In game 1, the Beers played a tough Whitlow’s on Wilson. In the regular season, the Beers split with WoW, but a different team showed up that night. Two defensive players were called up for the game. The Beers lost 17-13 in 5 innings. In game 2, the Beers faced their nemesis, the Bashers. Every year, the Beers have managed to knock the Bashers out of a tournament. This year was no different. The Beers took game 2 19-15 and managed to stay alive to play in week 2 of the playoffs.
