The Slaughtering Continues: Beers Take Two from Ragtag

The Beers came out to Barcroft Park for an early series against Ragtag.  Starting pitcher, Mike Peterson, was late yet again, so left fielder Matt Rowley got the call to the mound.  Matt let up two runs in the first inning, but he was quickly helped out by the Beers offense, which scored seven runs in the bottom of the second. The Beers went on to score ten more runs in the game, taking game 1 by the score of 17 to 5.

In game 2, the Beers came out swinging once again.  Scoring 8 runs (7 reported), the Beers created quite a comfort zone and started to relax.  This caught up to the Beers in the 3rd inning. Up 13 to 2, the Beers gave up 7 runs in the bottom of the 3rd.  After a quick exchange between Beers’ catcher Jon Rojas, the umpire, and a Ragtag batter, the Beers turned the offense back on.  The outcome was a LONG 5th inning in which the Beers scored another 7 runs, to win the game 20-9 (21-9 unoffically).

Update: League officials have decided to fine Beers’ pitcher, Mike Peterson, for every game in which he is late. More will be announced as the details of the fines are firmed up.

Beers’ Spotlight: Matt Rowley

Recently, I had a chance to sit down and talk to Beers’ left fielder, Matt Rowley.  Matt is having a career year and has yet to break anything that belongs to Beers players.

1. What do you contribute your success to this year? Not only are you 1st in hits, but tied for HR, 1st in RBIs, and 2nd in runs…

Jon, it’s pure commitment to the off season workout. With the help of my training team, Stella & Bronx, I have exponentially increased the size of my B’s and T’s. I also am using a lot more hips in my swing (that’s what she said).

2. What actions, if any, should be taken against star pitcher, Mike Peterson, for his tardiness to the games this year?

Quite honestly there has been a lot of buzz around the locker room on this topic. Some say he’s late cause he’s at the Home Depot, some say Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and some just say he’s a faggot. I don’t know really, it’s quite difficult to diagnose, but I can tell you one thing….as long as he’s late, you better let that guy Rowley pitch. He’s got a mean arc on his ball (that’s what she said).

3. What off season training did you do this year to get in such great softball shape?

Please refer to question #1. I love you Mom.

4. Many fans have noticed a massive bulge in your mouth during games. Care to comment?

It’s a bulge of awesomeness.

5. Who do you like this year to win the World Series?

The Orioles
